“Lose yourself” is a song that speaks of Marshall Bruce Mathers III’s life, better known as Slim Shady or with his most popular name: Eminem. “Lose yourself” was published on 28 October 2002; for that song Eminem was awarded the Oscar for Best Song in 2003 and the Golden Disk in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany and Greece, while the Platinum Disk in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Japan, Norway, USA, UK, Sweden and Switzerland. This song speaks of Eminem’s life in his neighborhood and 8Mile, a disastrous street in Detroit that divides the white quarter from the black one. We have chosen this song because it is one of his most famous songs, that made Eminem known all over the world. Eminem is one of our favorite singers because he is the best rapper in the world: in spite of his difficult childhood, thanks to his music he has become someone, so we admire him for his strength and for his willfulness. In addition to this reason we have chosen “Lose yourself” because we like its meaning. The message this song gives us is: you have to take advantage of the chance of life, give the maximum for what you want to get it, if you fail you will hardly have these possibilities, as the song says

“you better never let it go, 

you only get one shot, 

do not miss your chance to blow, 

this opportunity comes once in a lifetime”.
